Production stopped, but the doors are still open. [Apr. 14th, 2009|06:17 pm]

This post is to let members (or anyone who stumbles across this) know that I'm longer updating this or making icons. I've been inactive here for ages. Real life doesn't allow me time to make animated gifs anymore, even though I love doing it. This community is now just a holding pen for my past icons. Please credit nani_gifs if taking or using any, though comments are not necessary - I only see them through e-mail alerts now.

Thanks for reading, all the sweet comments, and watching my little pictures move!

Timing troubleshooting [Aug. 4th, 2006|10:26 pm]

For those of you in and/or watching this community, I've got a question:

Have any of the icons you've saved from nani_gifs ever looked too fast or sped up?

I switched to Firefox as my browser recently and noticed the timing on many of the icons is way fast. They looked fine on Internet Explorer but I'd prefer them to look fine on both. I'll be changing the timing on many previously posted icons; they'll still be offered in the same posts.

Thanks in advance.

Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, Tink, Bueller [Jul. 30th, 2006|07:50 pm]

[feeling |fullfull]

It's been a while since I posted - or even made - any icons. I changed the layout here finally, and I'm back with a batch from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and three of Tink that have been on the hard drive forever. I don't see me making a big batch of Peter Pan icons any time soon, so Tink gets to hang out with Abe Frohman this time. Two variations of Cameron on the phone, light and dark backgrounds, for switching between those good and evil phone moods.

And since I'm a giant Ferris fan, I'm spreading the word that Chicago's movies-in-the-park program will be playing it in Grant Park on August 25. If you're in the area, it might be worth checking out.

Jeanie? I can't see that far. Jeanie? Jeanie, I...Collapse )

On cross-posting [Jun. 11th, 2006|10:59 pm]

[feeling |still lethargic]

I know a lot icon makers X-post all over the place to tons of journals, and makers really should pimp their stuff out... so why do I feel guilty for X-posting to four communities?

Answer: I am prone to guilt.

Ranma 1/2 [Jun. 11th, 2006|10:13 pm]

[feeling |lethargiclethargic]

This set from Ranma 1/2 has been sitting around for a long time. I'd originally planned to make more for a bigger post, but I haven't made icons of any kind for a while. I decided to just put up these older ones and start up a fresh batch - either more Ranma or Ferris Bueller - during the week.

(no subject) [May. 17th, 2006|10:37 pm]

Okay, very very soon for this journal I plan on:

- replying to some of the comments from the last XF post already
- making an entry listing other users' animated icon tutorials plus some my own practices. I've been recently asked if I've ever done any tutorials, but I haven't and honestly don't think I'd be much good at writing one. There are already quite a few out there, I'm sure, so for anyone interested I'll link to some of the ones I like.
- starting up an affiliates list, maybe all fancy with buttons and whatnot
- changing the layout? The Tron look isn't doing much for me atm.

14 icons from the first few episodes of Ranma ½, season 1. In case you can't tell, I'm very fond of panda-Genma. :)

I would like to date with you...Collapse )

X Files, more "Bad Blood" [May. 7th, 2006|02:09 pm]

I like to think I've pretty much milked this episode for everything worth iconing, but there'll probably be more in the future. I can never get enough of this ep.

Seinfeld [Apr. 28th, 2006|12:04 am]

[feeling |drowsy]

I finally got around to making a few from Seinfeld season 2. Only a handful for now because some of them took forever. Pyramid George took the longest; I had to reposition every frame to match up because the scene pans up and down slightly. The jumping frames bothered me. Also couldn't decide how Flaming Globes should look so there are two variations. It's a bit tricky making ani-icons out of a show where the dialog is so integral. Well, in the first couple of seasons anyway - there wasn't as much physical action/humor as in later episodes. These were a lot of fun to make!
